Japan deploys military equipment to Indonesia to help combat severe toxic wildfires.

Japan has deployed a Japanese military transport ship, JS Kunisaki and three CH-47 helicopters to Borneo, as part of a disaster relief mission to help fight wildfires in Indonesia that are causing a toxic haze that is impacting people's health in other countries. This is the first known overseas firefighting operation by the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF). The mission aims to learn from Indonesia's operational experience and coordinate with them to ensure stable lives for the Indonesian people.
