Renault Unveils All-Electric Retro 8 Gordini Concept With 270 Horsepower

Renault has unveiled the all-electric 2026 R8 Gordini Concept, a two-seat coupe that reimagines the 1960s rally icon with blue-and-white livery, six round headlights and a low, wide stance. Its rear-mounted electric motor produces about 266–270 horsepower and drives the rear wheels; the show car also features 19-inch wheels and a minimalist cabin with circular digital instruments and brushed-aluminum trim. Amédée Gordini, known as “the wizard” for extracting performance from small Renault engines, gave his name to the original Renault 8 Gordini, a successful road, rally and racing car with 90 horsepower and upgraded suspension. Renault says a small in-house design team created the concept in roughly two months as a design exercise and heritage showcase, and its styling could inform future models. The concept is not slated for production.
