RareX Discovers Broad Copper Enrichment Zone at Western Australia Niobe Prospect

RareX reported a broad zone of preliminary copper enrichment at the Niobe prospect within its Khaleesi project in Western Australia, based on portable XRF readings from drill hole KRC012. The readings averaged 940 parts per million copper across 74 meters, from 77 to 151 meters downhole, with a peak above 5,724 parts per million; a separate hole, KRC007, also returned a narrower elevated-copper interval. The mineralization occurs in hydrothermally altered pyroxenite with disseminated pyrite and trace chalcopyrite, though the company has not yet determined its style or economic significance. Laboratory assays and further geological analysis are pending, and RareX says the alteration may represent an outer halo whose hotter, potentially more mineralized source remains to be located. The find expands Niobe’s existing exploration potential for gallium, niobium and rare earths to include copper.
A second hole, KRC007, located about 900 metres northeast of KRC012, returned an 8-metre interval averaging 960 ppm copper by pXRF, suggesting the anomalism may extend across the Niobe system rather than being confined to one drill hole.
The six-hole, 805-metre program was conducted along northern and southern lines about 400 metres apart. All holes except KRC009 intersected hydrothermally altered pyroxenite beneath syenite, with porphyry fingers ranging from less than 1 metre to 4 metres cutting the pyroxenite.
RareX said the pXRF readings are preliminary field values and should not be treated as a substitute for certified quantitative laboratory assays; the company plans to submit samples for independent testing and use thin sections to help model the mineralisation.
The company plans to complete a full assay suite that includes gold, then integrate the KRC012 results with the broader Niobe drilling program to determine which exploration methods should guide future drilling.
