Jonathan Anderson Rethinks Dior Heritage With Relaxed Spring Collection in Paris

Dior creative director Jonathan Anderson presented the house’s spring/summer 2027 collection at the Jardin des Tuileries during Paris Fashion Week, with Rihanna, Jennifer Lawrence, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rosalia and Cynthia Erivo among the front-row guests. The collection loosened Dior’s traditionally structured silhouette, featuring sheer layers, exposed bras, unevenly buttoned shirts and pajama-inspired tailoring in a garden setting. Lawrence wore an icy-blue, lace-trimmed dress with an asymmetrically ruched skirt, while Taylor-Joy paired a pencil skirt with a dramatic sheer black lace cape. The show’s playful approach to Dior heritage also drew on organic imagery and garden-inspired details. Paris Fashion Week runs from September 28 to October 6.
Anderson described the garden-show concept as “a promenade, the idea of people dressing up to walk in the park.”
The runway was set among trees and water, with mist rolling across a lake; Anderson had used the same Jardin des Tuileries setting for Dior’s autumn/winter 2026 ready-to-wear show.
The show’s relaxed silhouettes marked a departure from Dior’s historically structured New Look: Christian Dior introduced the Bar jacket and its cinched waist and full skirts in 1947, a year after founding the house.
Jennifer Lawrence told her seatmate Rosalía that she had learned Spanish so she could understand the singer’s music.
Dior’s invitations reportedly included hand-rolled Chinese wénwán walnuts, one of several nature-themed details previewing the collection.
