Omega Unveils Six New Bond Watches Featuring the Franchise First Villain Edition

Although Omega announced six references, the collection amounts to four distinct watches: two non-limited steel models and four watches offered in two highly limited box sets, which include limited-numbered versions of the steel models.
The Bond edition has a blue aluminum dial with a laser-engraved wave pattern, a steel mesh bracelet, and the Bond family coat of arms at 12 o’clock; its design borrows details from earlier Omega 007 editions.
Omega’s Bond association has had a notable commercial effect: the brand reportedly saw sales increase twentyfold after Pierce Brosnan wore a Seamaster in GoldenEye. Former Omega president Stephen Urquhart said sales “look like a stock market chart,” rising around Bond-film promotions and falling afterward.
Among the earlier villains’ watches, Mr Hinx, played by Dave Bautista in Spectre, wore a ceramic Rado D-Star, which is featured in the film’s eyeball-squeezing fight scene.
Omega has unveiled six Seamaster Diver 300M watches for Global James Bond Day, splitting the collection between 007 himself and his fictional enemies in Spectre. GQ reports this marks the first time Omega has explicitly created a Bond-themed watch for the villains, a milestone 30 years after Pierce Brosnan wore a Seamaster in GoldenEye. The move keeps Omega's connection to the franchise alive while the next Bond actor and film remain unannounced.
The Bond edition features a blue aluminum dial with laser-engraved waves and displays the Bond family coat of arms at 12 o'clock. Men's Journal notes the collection includes non-limited steel models alongside four watches in two highly limited box sets. The partnership has proven wildly profitable — Oracle of Time reports Omega's sales jumped twentyfold after GoldenEye, rising sharply around each Bond film release.
For over three decades, Omega watches appeared on Bond's wrist. Something About Rocks reports the brand has been the official 007 timepiece for more than 30 years. But villains wore memorable watches too — Francisco Scaramanga's gold Cellini King Midas and Le Chiffre's Longines Evidenza became iconic in their own right. Omega now levels the playing field with dedicated Spectre wristwear.
Dave Bautista's character Mr Hinx wore a ceramic Rado D-Star in the 2015 film Spectre, which appeared in a brutal eyeball-squeezing fight scene. Something About Rocks highlights these villain watches as standout examples in Bond cinema. The new Spectre collection lets fans wear watches inspired by the franchise's most dangerous antagonists.
The Bond watch's blue dial and wave pattern draw inspiration from earlier Omega 007 editions spanning four decades. The steel mesh bracelet complements the family crest engraved at 12 o'clock. GQ explains the design weaves together iconic details from classic Bond watches. The new model joins Omega's standard Seamaster lineup, keeping the franchise visible on store shelves and wrists.
Omega offered the collection in both regular steel and limited numbered versions across two exclusive box sets. Men's Journal reports the brand uses this tiered approach to appeal to casual fans and serious collectors alike. The combination of general-release and ultra-rare editions gives Omega multiple price points and collector appeal.
With no new Bond movie announced, Omega faces a challenge: how to keep 007 merchandise relevant. Oracle of Time notes that sales historically spike around Bond film releases, then drop off in between. The new Spectre and Bond editions give fans fresh content to pursue while waiting for the next movie.
Former Omega president Stephen Urquhart once described the sales pattern as looking "like a stock market chart." Oracle of Time reports the brand has capitalized on this cycle for three decades. Releasing new watches during James Bond Day — not tied to a film premiere — represents a strategy to maintain momentum independent of 007's film schedule.
