ONDO Leads Altcoin Rally As Bitcoin Holds Near $84,000 Amid Rising Yields

Bitcoin held around $84,000 as major cryptocurrencies rebounded and parts of the altcoin market rallied. Ethereum and XRP advanced, while gains were uneven across altcoins and Ondo Finance’s ONDO stood out, rising as the project expanded its tokenized-asset offerings. The moves came amid sharply higher U.S. Treasury yields, which can pressure risk-sensitive assets, but Bitcoin remained relatively steady through the market turbulence. Traders are watching nearby technical resistance and support levels to see whether the rebound can continue.
A stronger-than-expected U.S. business-activity reading was one catalyst for the rise in yields: September’s flash composite PMI reached 58.4, its highest level since July 2021.
The 10-year Treasury yield reached 5.18%, its highest level since July 2007, while the 30-year yield rose to 5.46%, reclaiming levels last seen in 2004.
Ondo’s token reclaimed $0.50 for the first time since December 2025 after the launch of BlackRock-backed Ondo Intelligent Portfolios on Ethereum and BNB Chain.
Mohamed A. El-Erian warned that a weaker yen nearing 159 per dollar could add pressure to Treasury yields, since Japanese currency intervention typically involves selling U.S. securities to buy yen.
Ondo Finance’s expansion has included partnerships with NEAR and Alpaca, broader tokenized-stock offerings, and a connection to DTCC, the U.S. clearing infrastructure backbone.
