Siemens and NVIDIA Partner to Deliver Self-Verifying AI for Semiconductor and PCB Design

Siemens has expanded its partnership with NVIDIA to build self-verifying agentic AI workflows for semiconductor and PCB design, according to PR Newswire. The goal is to move the chip design industry beyond simple automation and toward AI systems that can check and confirm their own results.
The collaboration combines Siemens' electronic design automation (EDA) expertise with NVIDIA's AI infrastructure and software. Together, they aim to improve result quality, speed, and reliability across complex, long-running engineering tasks, Yahoo Finance reported.
At the center of this update is Siemens' Fuse EDA AI Agent system. It now supports what the company calls "self-verifying" workflows. That means the AI can run a task and then check its own output for errors — without a human stepping in, according to PR Newswire.
The system is built to handle tool-calling more reliably. In EDA work, AI agents must call dozens of specialized software tools in the right order. Getting that sequence wrong wastes hours of compute time. Siemens says the new updates cut down on those failures, Barchart reported.
Siemens recently launched a platform called Intelligence Center X. The Fuse EDA AI Agent is now fully integrated into it, according to MarketScreener. The platform lets engineers create and coordinate AI agents across design, manufacturing, and supply chain operations — all from one place.
That's a big shift. Before, AI tools in chip design often worked in silos. Each tool handled one job. Intelligence Center X lets agents work together across the full product lifecycle. Siemens says this reduces hand-offs and speeds up how fast a design moves from concept to production.
NVIDIA brings its AI infrastructure and software stack to the partnership. This includes compute hardware and AI frameworks tuned for the heavy math involved in chip design. TradingView noted that the pairing is designed to make long-running engineering workloads faster and more efficient.
Chip design jobs can run for days. A single error late in the process can force engineers to restart from scratch. By using NVIDIA's AI tools alongside Siemens' EDA software, the companies say they can catch mistakes earlier and deliver results engineers can actually trust.
The semiconductor industry has a trust problem with AI. Engineers will not hand off critical design decisions to a system that cannot explain or verify its own work. Siemens says its updates are specifically designed to fix that. The Fuse AI Agent is built to deliver "trusted and verifiable outcomes," according to Yahoo Finance.
PCB design — the layout of circuit boards inside electronics — faces the same challenge. Errors there can cause products to fail in the field. Self-verifying AI that flags its own mistakes before tape-out could save chipmakers millions of dollars in re-spins and delays, WFMZ reported.
